Dr. John Mounger is a 1980 graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine. His practice experience includes dogs, cats, beef and dairy cattle, goats, sheep, horses, swine, large exotic herbivores and carnivores, as well as regulatory medicine.
His “old country vet” minimalist philosophy is not unlike that of James Herriot. He believes absolutely in preventative medicine, applicable diagnostics, and adequate non-invasive therapy. As a general practitioner, he believes strongly in referring patients to specialists whenever necessary. He is a man known for his plain honesty and integrity.
His passion for all creatures great and small extends into all areas of his life. He loves spending time with his pit bull, Samurai, and tabby cat, Xiǎolóng. An avid gardener and cook, he is also enthusiastic about canning, making sausage, fishing, and traveling.
